Dormitory Resident Selection Guidelines

As for international students, there may be a limit in selection of the dormitories while seniors are prioritized at the Global Dormitory.
Article 1 (Purpose)
These guidelines by the Dormitory Office are made in order to have more efficient operations
Article 2 ( Selection)
1. New students are admitted to the University can apply upon receipt of the application form.
2. Undergraduate students of the University who are enrolled or who are on leave, or students to be enrolling in the next school year.
3. Local residents of Kangwon-do and Gyeonggi-do Gapyeong-gun (hereinafter referred to as "Each City.County")
Resident students who plan to enroll in a University within Chuncheon (including Graduate Students).
However, additional selection of each city and county's applicants will be done by the Dormitory Director.
4. Graduate students who are enrolled in the University or who are on leave, or students to be enrolling in the next school year.
5. Graduate Students who have finished their studies and still want to reside in the dormitory ( Koreans: one semester after completion of the Masters, two semesters for PhD; Foreigners: two semesters after completion of Masters, three semesters for PhD).
6.Education Graduate Students are expected to apply during the summer/winter semester.
7. Among Language Institute Students and registrant, foreigners will be selected.
Article 3 (Staff)
1. Personnel selection shall be determined by the director.
2.Each recruit new students selected persons per unit shall be determined by the percentage of students in the dormitory incident with us. However, the interspecific recruitment unit cannot adjust the selected persons.
3. Local residents andGlobal Dormitory staff: Each City.County and those who are qualified to [Table 2]'s criteriadepends on(Each City.County recommendation)
Article 4 (Dorm Application and Selection Period)
1. The selection period will be determined separately for undergraduate students who have received the admission form in lieu of registration.
2.The selection period will be determined separately for students who applied in the middle of the second semester.
3. The selection period will be determined separately for local students andGlobal Dormitory staff who applied at each City.Country.
4. The selection period will be determined separately for graduate students and trainees. Admission will be announced 30 days after registering.
5.The selection period will be before the opening of classes for education graduate students who applied at the Education Graduate School a week before the classes start.
Article 5 (Selection Method)
1. New applicantscommissioned by the "Information Center" (including distance points) must possess good morals to be selected.
2. Students will be selected through the criteria listed below [Table 1]

2) At least 7 times or more, a minimum of 15 hours must be reflected
(Two essential conditions should be met)
3)The semester highest score shall be reflected among the past volunteering histories
Merits and Demerits 25 * Giving Extra 10 points to: Disciplinary points are cumulative within one-year
A.National Merit Children
B.Next Level (Welfare benefit recipients - medical care subjects, Self-supporting, Disabled, those with single parents)
* Those who live far away from the Universit 2~5 points

Merits for Students who live far away from the university
New Applicant Criteria : Give extra points depending on the distance
1. 10 points for the following areas
- South Jeolla Province, North Jeolla Province, Gyeongsangnam-do, Jeju residents, Busan, Gwangju, Ulsan
2. 5 points for the following areas
- Gangwon province: Taebaek, Jeongseon
- North Chungcheong Province: negative group, Jincheon, Jeungpyeong County, Goesan County, Cheongju, Cheongwon, Boeun County, Okcheon County, Yeongdong County
- South Chungcheong Province, Daejeon Metropolitan City, Gyeongsangbuk Areas
Current Students Criteria : Give extra points depending on the distance
1. 5 points for the following areas
- South Jeolla Province, North Jeolla Province, Gyeongsangnam-do, Jeju residents, Busan, Gwangju, Ulsan
2. 2 points for the following areas
- Gangwon province: Taebaek, Jeongseon
- North Chungcheong Province: negative group, Jincheon, Jeungpyeong County, Goesan County, Cheongju, Cheongwon, Boeun County, Okcheon County, Yeongdong County
- South Chungcheong Province, Daejeon Metropolitan City, Gyeongsangbuk Areas
3. For Local Students: The Director selects after receiving each City.County's chief's recommendation.
4.For Graduate Students: The Director selects after receiving the advisor's recommendation.
5.For Education Department Graduate Students: The Director selects after receiving the Dean's recommendation
6. For Foreign International Students/Language Institute Students: The director selects after receiving the Office of International Affairs Director's/Language Institute Director's recommendation.
Article 6 (Selection Priority)
1. Priority students will be as follows:
A. Pensioners andApplicants of Lower Income Group
B. National Merit Children Candidates
C. In case of a screened applicant who submits the documents to the office later, they could be selected for vacancies.
2. Current Students
A.Children of Pension Beneficiaries
3. Graduate Students
A. Foreign International students
B. Korean Graduate Students
4. Other Priority Selections
A. Siblings in the University (Chuncheon Campus) who are graduate or undergraduate students, or siblings who will enroll at the university the following school year. (Except for the case of leave of absence of one of the siblings ) However, one of more of the siblings must reach the student dormitory selection criteria
Article 7 (Exclusion)
The following students are excluded from the selection:
1. Received probation from the previous semester (However, for hospitalization, etc. Students who have legitimate reasons are excluded)
2. As stated on the Kangwon National University Student Dormitory guidelines, if you have accumulated demerit points, a forced expulsion (for one semester)
3. Students with Infectious Disease
4. Students on Leave of Absence
5. In the case of an employed graduate student
6. Others which the Director deems inappropriate
Article 8 (Documents to be Submitted)
1. Health Certificate
2. Advisor Recommendation (Article 2 Term 5)
Article 9 (Waiving Intention to Enter the Dormitory)
The following students shall be considered waiving their intent to enter the dormitory:
1. Failure to submit final submission documents within the application period
2. Not being able to pay the dormitory fee during the payment period
3. Failure to check-in within 7 days from the check-in date (However, for hospitalization, etc. Students who have legitimate reasons are excluded)
Article 10 (Additional Selection)
Vacancies (in case of waiver or leave), additional selections could be processed from time to time.
Article 11 (Building and Room Transfer)
A resident cannot be transferred to another residential building after checking in, while room transfer can be warranted once the reason is acknowledged.
